Disaro Gamma

It shoots lightning vertically at the peak of its jump.

So with XNA no longer actively being developed, have you looked into MonoGame? I'm curious as to hear experiences about it from previous XNA devs and also platform porting attempts and that kind of thing. Also, nice work on this nice game although I came across a few issues with it which I could post but would probably come off as complaining.

Anonymous

MonoGame advertises the ability to “convert existing projects in 5 minutes!” but I spent literally 8 hours trying to get it to work, and it never did. I couldn’t find a single page explaining how to actually use the damn thing, just an endless web of open-source “documentation” that says everything except what’s important.

I do wish it would work so more people could play, but unless some miracle happens, this game is staying on PC only.

Banana Bastion

I actually made this a few months ago, but never posted it here. This plays in sky levels! I used lots of fluctuating volumes, which gives it a “swooping” feel. Hypersaw is my favorite synth ever (along with its variations) - that’s the one you hear for the main melody, the angelic-sounding one. I use it for a few other songs, but it really shines here.

Nabbel

This is the Nabbel, which shuffles to the side while shooting ring projectiles. The shots break into two when they get destroyed, and so does the Nabbel itself! (Too bad the connecting lightning is procedural so I couldn’t really add it to the gif though.)

Intro page

I put together this page as an intro to anyone who is new to the game. If you want to get your friends interested, show them that! Also, I know the update has been taking a while, but trust me, we’re still working on it. It’s just that the biggest new things in the update are the ones that we’re trying to keep a secret! (and I mean “biggest” literally)

Random reminder: if you want to encourage us to work faster (and have the new version have more features), go here!

Azure... Would you be my friend? Seriously, though... I tried to get Copy Kitty on my laptop, but it crashes every time when I try to play it. I have the XBA component thingie for it and I still have no idea why it's not working. I read the important notes in the folder before I started and now... Nothing... Could you help me find out the problem? Also, could I have hugs? (Guy, btw. haha) I would even be fine with talking.

Regarding friends and hugs: go to the chat room and I’ll be glad to talk to you!
Regarding getting the game to work: after you run the setup file, if it crashes whenever you start it with a “stopped working” error, try manually installing XNA Framework 3.0 (even though the game uses 3.1, someone reported that the game worked after getting 3.0). If that still doesn’t work, that’s one more reason to join the chat room so I can get more details from you and see if we can figure anything out!

Spaaaaaaace!

While most of next update is focusing on Mission Mode, here’s at least one cool thing for Endless: a new environment type, Nebula, which features low gravity and no boundaries whatsoever.

Fanart of pretty much the best game ever, Copy Kitty! Check the developers out at http://entanma.tumblr.com/!
This is Boki using the attack known as Summon Dragon (the combination of the powers Explode, Force and Tornado). The thing that bugs me about the in-game attack though is that it doesn’t actually have a dragon graphic or anything! (hint hint, azure and raibys?) I tried my best to make a decent replacement one but it looks kinda… goofy? I dunno. Let’s just ignore the fact that I went on a wild goose chase looking for a reference for drawing a dragon that didn’t actually exist, anyway…
Forgive my inability to make good backgrounds, I just made some cave-like scenario with glowy lights kinda like some of the ones you find in the in-game terrain but not really… Eh. Also apparently that texture on her feet was crystal all along (same with the teeth, claws, etc.), so that was a change I had to make when her outline was already done! <.<
Really proud of how Boki herself came out though. Although I didn’t use the alternate outfit colors for when she has other powers, but whatever, I wanted her default colors here. I don’t know what to think of the characterization given here because not much of it is given in the game either, so… yeah.
Enjoy, anyhow! Remember to see the image in full size (“Zoom” isn’t enough) because it looks best that way, none of that pesky anti-aliasing to be found here! This is the biggest entirely digital drawing I’ve made so far, it took a day and a half and most of that was the subpar background… I went into 3 AM finishing this!

Thank you! I’ve seen you like/reblog a few of the things here, but never thought to actually check out your blog until CK_Crash pointed this out. Thanks again for being awesome!

Hi guys, it’s me again. Been doing some more art for the game and such. A version of this image will actually be used in one of the menus sometime later on.

Anyway, so as you know, Boki can copy any supernatural power and use it as her own. Here she is copying the powers of… someone you will see a lot more of in future games Azure and I make!

Fire and Ice Talismans

I realized I never actually made an official post for this! These are two new timed powerups, that almost act like a 4th weapon in your combo - they add additional properties to whatever weapon combination you’re already using! One of the powerups burns all enemies that your weapons hit, and the other one freezes them.

Any enemies that used to drop the Flame solo weapon drop the Flame Talisman instead, which is a lot more fun and intuitive. There’s still a close-range powerful solo weapon though, as you can tell from a few posts ago!
